Workshop 04: The APA Academic Essay -Refining Research
Summary: You worked in pairs or a group of three to do the pre-writing activity, and I gave you individual support on your not taking. We also discussed APA 7th edition formatting with individual feedback on screen in real-time provided much support.
Homework due on Wednesday 10/11/2023 at 5 PM:
- Please, research the SAME research issue using 1 Internet, book, newspaper, or journal articles about a topic that you are passionate to write about and upload it to your Google Doc. and include your typed APA References. The focus might be best on researching the causes and effects of your issue.
Then, take two pages of notes or more for the article by noting the keywords. Remember to write the author’s name(s), the date, and page or paragraph numbers if you use direct quotations above your notes. Try to summarize your work as best you can by noting the pages or paragraphs where you found the information, so you can refer to these notes for your convenience while writing your upcoming essay. Please place Article #4 at Workshop 04 in your Google Doc.

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ): DOAJ is a community-designed and maintained online journal directory that provides you access to robust, open access, peer-reviewed journals. This search engine is independent, and it is free including being indexed in DOAJ. Please use this engine for topical issues and authors, and you might find research that provides evidential content for your academic essay. DOAJ is an educational outreach search engine that focuses on high-quality applications and submissions.
Google Scholar: Google scholar helps you do a broad or narrow search of articles. It also helps you cite your “references” for APA and “work cited” for MLA!
CORE Research Engine UK: This research search engine claims to be the largest open-access research database in the world giving free access to 1-This website is very informative and easy to understand, where you might find research on your issue from Professor Andy Barfield.
