Session 04: Flow & Creativity

Summary: 

We viewed and discussed David Kelly's Ted talk about fostering creative confidence. 


New vocabulary: obscure, improvise, innate, self-efficacy, Professor Bandura at Stanford, opt-out, anesthesiology, stuffed animal (plush toy), IDIO is David Kelly's Company, the D School is at Stanford University

Homework due on Sunday 05/17/2020 at 4 PM so I can check your work in advance: 

1. Complete an entry or more of self-study in your Four-Skills Log. The entry should be one hour in length or longer and please answer the questions completely: 

Which day, which practice task, and how long?  Reflections: What did you do? How long for? What did you notice? How did you feel? New speaking or listening goals?

2. Please read and take about 3 pages of notes on:

Csikszentmihalyi, M. (1997). Finding flow: The psychology of engagement with everyday life. Basic Books.

Please use the attached Word document below, to insert your photos in this ONE doc.  

3. Please type your highlights in your Note-Taking Matrix and cut and paste the Csikszentmihalyi (2004, February) in section 2 above. 

That means you send me two or three documents. This will make writing your report so easy! I do not want to waste your time.
