Class 02: Communication Workshop

Summary: First, we discussed your 4Cs TED Talk homework about Prichard's TED Talk in breakout sessions in English, which made great ideas for your future research presentations. I will set up your four 4Cs TED Talk homework assessment rubric by Class 03. This assignment is new for me to teach at Saitama University, so I would like to read your comments first for the homework for Class 01 for two points as a template for future assignments. Setting up your research is enough homework for Class 02.

Prichard, M. (2009). How to make filthy water drinkable. [Video] Ted Talk Conference.

Then, I explained how you could start your presentation research. Please chose a narrowed and focused topic related to your major and research interests.

Homework due via email on Monday, 12/07/2020 by 4 PM:

1. Please, research the SAME research issue using 2 Internet, book, newspaper, or journal articles about a topic you are passionate about writing. Then take one to two pages of notes for each article using the keywords on the pages. Remember to write the author's name(s), the date, and page or paragraph numbers if you use direct quotations. When you email me your notes, can you take pictures of them and put them in the Word document below? And label your name in Class 02 My Research Homework? It will save me time because I have 33 students that take notes. If the documents are sent separately, I have 99 files to save and edit. Thanks for helping me.
