Session 3 on 10/16/2015: TOEIC Part 6 & Directions Activity

Summary:
We had a wonderful learning experience preparing for the emergency drill in English that started at 12pm today. I was proud you learned the directions and carried out the drill all in English, so firstly, we studied the map of how to exit our building and also studied the map where we gather in an event of an emergency. Afterwards, to reinforce the directional vocabulary you played a concentration game with maps and directions. Then, we went over the TOEIC homework, reflected on our class, and had an emergency drill.

Homework due on 10/30/2015:

1. After studying the TOEIC tips for part 7 at the outer columns of the text, take the please do Mini-Test B, Unit 14, p. 77-81:  Text Completion section from numbers 1 to 12, by keeping the TOEIC Tips for part 7 in mind. Then write down your reflections in  your Listening and Reading Log for entry #4 in this format:

Plan: Which day, which practice task and how long?  Reflections: What did you do? How long for? What did you notice? How did you feel? New listening or reading goals?

TOEIC  TEST  Tips Part 7 (by Grant Trew):

  • Be careful about the context or situation to chose the vocabulary questions.
  • Look for words and ideas in the passage that are related to the question and answer choices.
  • Make sure to read the key words in the questions and answers first and then search for the answers in the passage
2. Take one page or more of detailed notes on your AnyRead!  (login with the same password you made) Instructions are provided in Session 2 on 10/09/2015 if you have forgotten how to use it.
