Session 7 on 11/17/2015, 2015: Categorising and Discussing Your Self-Talk

Summary: While I was checking your homework, you lovely students had already arranged your seating so that you could sit next to a person that you rarely or had never chatted before and were discussing your categorised notes about the week that you recorded your self-talk. Then we discussed the guidelines for your upcoming presentations in December, viewed samples of former students' Powerpoint slideshows and drafts of former presentations on A3 paper. Then we ran out of time, so you can write your class reflections at leisure and submit them at my office.

Homework due on 11/24/2015:

1. Please prepare for your slideshow presentation on December 1st or December 8th. The guidelines that you also received in class for assessment are attached at the bottom of this webpage :). As best you can, design your slides for powerpoint on the A3 sheet of paper provided in class first and make sure that you have a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Then if you have time, start making your slideshow draft on your computer, so that we can work on it in class on Session 8. Students who know how to reference articles can also include our reading material to your slideshows, otherwise, I will give guidance about this in our following session. 

2. Bring your computer to class on November 24th for slideshow making, adding reference material, and possibly learning some new computer tricks.

3. Option to complete an entry of self-study in your Four-Skills Log. The entry should be one hour in length or longer and please answer the questions completely: 

Which day, which practice task and how long?  Reflections: What did you do? How long for? What did you notice? How did you feel? New speaking or listening goals?
